After graduating with honors from the Cumberland School of Law in 1994, Joel has represented clients in a wide variety of litigation and insurance coverage matters. In addition to Joel’s primary focus of insurance coverage disputes, extra-contractual litigation, and declaratory judgment actions, Joel has also represented clients in commercial litigation; premises liability cases; automobile liability cases; construction defect and injury cases; and labor, employment, and discrimination matters.
In addition to representing clients in the litigation context, Joel provides counseling, opinions, and advice to the firm’s clients. This includes providing detailed analyses of insurance coverage; advising clients during the investigation of claims; advising clients regarding appraisal under insurance policies; and conducting examinations under oath.
Joel proudly represents clients throughout the State of Alabama, including its trial and appellate courts; all of the federal courts in Alabama; and the state and federal courts of Georgia and Tennessee, where Joel is also licensed to practice.
Joel is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the Georgia State Bar, the Mississippi State bar, the Tennessee State Bar, the District of Columbia Bar, the Birmingham Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association.
